MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER!

KEEP THE FAITH

If You Call Out Loud
Will It Get Inside
Through The Heart Of Your Surrender
To Your Alibis
And You Can Say The Words
Like You Understand
But The Power's In Believing
So Give Yourself A Chance

'Cause You Can Climb The Highest Mountain
Swim The Deepest Sea, Hee
All You Need Is The Will To Wart It And Uhh,

Little Self-Esteem

So Keep The Faith
Don't Let Nobody Turn You 'Round
You Gotta Know When It's Good To Go
To Get Your Dreams Up Off The Ground

So Keep The Faith, Baby, Yea
Because It's Just
A Matter Of Time
Before Your Confidence Will Win Out
Believe In Yourself
No Matter What It's Gon' Take
You Can Be A Winner
But You Got To Keep The Faith

...Gon' Keep It Brother
You Got It

And When You Think Of Trust
Does It Lead You Home
To A Place That You Only Dream Of
When You're All Alone
And You Can Go By Feel

'Stead Of Circumstance
But The Power's In Beliving
So Give Yourself A Chance

I Know That You Can Sail Across The Water
Float Across The Sky, High
Any Road That You Take Will Get You There
If You Only Try

So Keep The Faith, Ow
Don't Let Nobody Take You Down, Brother
Just Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

And Your Feet Flat On The Ground

Keep The Faith, Baby, Yea
Because It's Just A Matter Of Time
Before Your Confidence Will Win Out

I Told My Brother How To Do The Thing Right
Lift Up Your Head And Show The World You Got Pride
Go For What You Want
Don't Let 'Em Get In Your Way
You Can Be A Winner
But You Got To Keep The Faith
Gon' Keep It Brother
You Got It

I Know That Keepin' The Faith
Means Never Givin' Up On Love
But The Power That Love Has To Make It Right,
Makes It... Makes It Right

So Keep The Faith, Gon'
Don't Let Nobody Turn You 'Round Brother
You Got To Know When It's Good To Go
To Get Your Dreams Up Off The Ground

So Keep The Faith Baby, Yea
Because It's Just A Matter Of Time
Before Your Confidence Will Win Out

Better Stand Up And Act Like You Wanna Do Right
Don't Play The Fool For The Rest Of Your Life
Work On It Brother And You'll Make It Someday

Go For What You Want
And Don't Forget The Faith
Look At Yourself
And What You Doin' Right Now
Stand Back A Minute
Just To Check Yourself Out
Straighten Out Your Life
And How You're Livin' Each Day
Get Yourself Together
'Cause You Got To Keep The Faith

Uh, Uh, Uh Gon'
Don't Let Nobody Take You Down, Brother
Just Keep Your Eyes On The Prize
And Your Feet Flat On The Ground

So Keep The Faith, Baby, Yea
Because It's Just A Matter Of Time
Before Your Confidence Will Win Out

Lift Up Your Mind
Before Your Mind Gets Blown
Some Things In Life
You Best Just Leave Them Alone
Go For What You Want
Don't Let It Get In Your Way
You Can Make It Happen
But Ya Got Ta Keep The Faith

Gon' Keep It Brother
You Got To Keep The Faith
Yeah Keep The Faith
Gon' Keep It Sister
You Got To Keep The Faith
Now, Now
I'll Show My Brotha
How To Do The Thing Right
Lift Up Your Head
And Show The World You Got Pride
Go For What You Want
Don't Let 'Em Get In Your Way
You Can Be A Winner
If You Keep The Faith
Straighten Out Yourself
And Get Your Mind On Track
Dust Off Your Butt
And Get Your Self-Respect Back
You've Known Me Long Enough
To Know That I Don't Play
Take It Like You Want It
But You Got To Keep The Faith, Gon'
Don't Let Nobody Take You Down
Just Keep Your Eyes On The Prize
And Get Your Feet Back On The Ground

So Keep The Faith, Baby, Yea
Because It's Just
A Matter Of Time
Before Your Confidence Will Win Out
But Till That Day I Said You've Got To
Keep The Faith!

In our darkest hour
in my deepest despair
will you still care?
will you be there?
in my trials
and my tripulations
through our doubts
and frustrations
in my violence
in my turbulence
through my fear
and my confessions
in my anguish and my pain
through my joy and my sorrow
in the promise of another tomorrow
i'll never let you part
for you're always in my heart.

Maybe the walls will tumble
and sun may refuse to shine
when i say I LOVE YOU
baby, you gotta know
that's for all time
baby you gotta know
that's for all time

...

And maybe the walls will crumble
and sun may refuse to shine
when i say I NEED YOU
baby, you gotta know
that's for all time
baby you gotta know
that's for all time

say that you'll never go

that's for all time

Foods that prevent cancer
Posted On 11/12/2008 03:23:56

Cancer is no longer thought to be solely the product of factors outside of our control such as heredity or accidental contact with toxic pollutants. In fact, scientists believe there is a great deal we can do to reduce our risk of developing the disease.

The 2007 Expert Report by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) found that the food we eat and other lifestyle choices such as daily physical activity and maintaining a healthy body weight are key to preventing cancer. This epic report - which was five years in the making and reviewed 7,000 large-scale studies - found that an unhealthy diet is linked to about one third of all cancer cases.

In fact, according to U.S.-based The National Cancer Institute (NCI), serious diseases that are linked to what we eat kill an estimated three out of four Americans each year. These diseases include heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and some types of cancer.

But while the foods you eat can hurt you, they can also help you. And not surprisingly, fruits and vegetables are "All-Star foods" when it comes to protecting yourself against cancer.

Foods you gotta love

Research shows that diets most protective against cancer are predominately plant-based. Here are just a few ways food can help in the battle against cancer:

Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, bok choy, kale) contain two antioxidants, lutein and zeaxanthin that may help decrease prostate and other cancers.

Foods that contain folate such as liver, spinach, beans, broccoli, oranges, lettuce, avocado, and asparagus are thought to help protect against cancer of the pancreas. Avocados are also rich in glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that attacks free radicals in the body. They also provide even more potassium than bananas.

Onions, chives, leeks and garlic may help prevent stomach cancer. Garlic also has immune-enhancing allium compounds that appear to increase the activity of immune cells that fight cancer.

The beta carotene found in carrots may help reduce a wide range of cancers including lung, mouth, throat, stomach, intestine, bladder, prostate and breast. (Some research suggests beta carotene may actually cause cancer, but it has not proven that eating carrots, unless in very large quantities - 2 to 3 kilos a day - can cause cancer.) Sweet potatoes also contain many anticancer properties, including beta-carotene.

Certain types of mushrooms such as Shitake, maitake, and reishi are thought to help build the immune system and prevent cancer cells from multiplying.

Fruits are also thought to provide protection against cancer. Grapefruits, like other citrus fruits, help to rid the body of carcinogens. Red grapes contain bioflavonoids, powerful antioxidants that work as cancer preventives. Like red wine, they are also a rich source of resveratrol, which inhibits the enzymes that can stimulate cancer-cell growth. Papayas are thought to reduce absorption of cancer-causing nitrosamines from the soil or processed foods. Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are also thought to contain many cancer preventing properties.

Tomatoes contain lycopene, an antioxidant that attacks the free radicals that are suspected of triggering cancer.

Selenium, a mineral found in brazil nuts, sunflower seeds and fish is thought to provide protection against prostate cancer.

Tip: To eat healthfully, experts say a good rule of thumb is to fill 2/3 of your plate with vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans and 1/3 or less with animal foods. Look for recipes for casseroles, stews and stir fries that use meat almost as a condiment.

Foods to avoid

Now for the bad news, particularly for meat-lovers. To maintain a healthy diet, you can forget about eating processed meats such as bacon, ham, salami, corned beef and some sausages. According to the WCRF, no amount is considered completely safe. Also try to limit consumption of red meats (such as beef, pork and lamb) to less than 500g cooked weight (about 700-750g raw weight) a week. Both red and processed meats are thought to be causes of bowel cancer.

Tip: For big breakfast eaters, try having your eggs with roasted tomatoes, which are rich in healthy carotenoids - which the WCRF says can lower the risk of cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx and lung. And add some crushed garlic to help prevent bowel and stomach cancer. Tasty and healthy substitutes for bacon (particularly in pasta sauces) are cooked mushrooms because of their strong flavour and meaty texture.

Other 'bad guys'

Salty foods and foods processed with salt, including some bread and breakfast cereals. Research suggests that salt and salt-preserved foods are linked with stomach cancer.

Alcohol consumption is linked to an increased risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, larynx, esophagus, breast, and liver. Experts advise drinking alcohol only moderately, which for men means no more than 2 drinks a day and for women, only one per day. (Examples of what is considered one drink: 5 ounces of wine, 12 ounces of beer, 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor.)

Sugary drinks and energy-dense foods (high in fats and/or sugars and often low in nutrients and fiber) increase the risk of obesity - and therefore, cancer. Scientists have found that greater body fat increases the risk of cancer of the esophagus, pancreas, colon and rectum, breast (postmenopausal), kidney and gallbladder cancer.

Reduce your cancer risk

When it comes to eating to prevent cancer, Liz Armstrong, co-author of Cancer: 101 Solutions to a preventable epidemic (New Society Publishers), says there are 4 'must do' principles to reduce your cancer risk.

1. Eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables - and as much as possible, buy fresh, ripe, locally grown and organic. As a general rule of thumb: raw or lightly steamed is more healthy than cooked; fresh is better than frozen; and frozen is better than canned.

2. Drink lots of healthy liquids including pure water (cleansed of chlorine and other contaminants), various teas such as green and Chai, and freshly juiced fruits and vegetables.

3. Start your cancer prevention early - in the womb if possible! The good news, however, is that it's never too late to begin. "While starting 'in utero' is not an option for us over-50s, we can offer this good advice to our kids and grandkids who are about to become pregnant," Armstrong says.

4. Take good quality food supplements. While the WCRF recommends that people aim to meet their nutritional needs through food, Armstrong says this is not always possible - and not only because of our busy schedules. "We know from the literature and studies of food nutrients over time that the percentages of many vitamins and minerals in veggies have plunged since the 1930s and 40s, so it seems prudent to supplement, that is, until the soils that grow most of our foods have been remediated sufficiently to provide what our bodies need," Armstrong says.

A caveat: Not all vitamin supplements are created equal and there is much controversy about recommended dosage. Research has shown that high doses of nutrient supplements can both protect against and cause cancer. Because of this, Armstrong recommends consulting with your doctor or a nutritionist before supplementing. For more information on vitamin supplements, click here.

Michael Jackson converts to Islam
Posted On 22/11/2008 22:56:19

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Pop star Michael Jackson has converted to Islam at a ceremony in Los Angeles attended by Yousef Islam, the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens, sources say.

Jackson, whose once-amazing career has been eclipsed in recent years by reports of bizarre behavior, as well as legal and financial troubles, is said to have changed his name to Mikaeel and taken the shahada -- or made a declaration of belief -- as part of his conversion to Islam, Al-Arabiya said Friday.

The religious ceremony reportedly took place at the Hollywood Hills home of Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro, who composed music for Jackson's iconic "Thriller" album.

Jackson's lawyer said the singer has agreed to testify in person next week at a $7 million breach-of-contract lawsuit brought against him in London's High Court by the king of Bahrain's son, Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

The sheikh is suing Jackson for allegedly backing out of a business venture that was to produce an album, including songs the royal wrote for and planned to record with Jackson, as well as an autobiography and a stage play.

However, Jackson contends he never signed an official agreement and insists the payments he received from the sheik were "gifts," claiming the royal's case is based on "mistake, misrepresentation and undue influence."

Michael Jackson to give evidence in London court
Posted On 22/11/2008 22:55:26
LONDON (AFP) – Pop megastar Michael Jackson will testify in person at London's High Court next week against allegations that he owes a Bahraini prince seven million dollars, his lawyer said on Thursday.

Robert Englehart, representing the "King of Pop", told the court that Jackson was withdrawing his application to give evidence via videolink from Los Angeles because of an unspecified medical condition.

"He has been cleared by his medical advisers to travel in two days' time," Englehart said.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, second son of the King of Bahrain, is suing cash-strapped Jackson for seven million dollars (5.6 million euros), demanding the repayment of several advances which the artist has argued were gifts.

The 50-year-old artist is expected to give evidence on Monday afternoon, after arriving in Britain over the weekend.

According to the BBC, the court heard earlier that Jackson was suffering from an unspecified medical condition and it was unlikely that he would be able to give evidence in person.

Experts for the defence had said, though, that it may have been possible for Jackson to testify in London with "suitable dressings", the BBC said.

According to the prince's lawyer Bankim Thanki, the sheikh helped support Jackson financially in the aftermath of his 2005 child molestation trial, accepting a request from the artist for one million dollars in April 2005, as well as paying the 2.2-million-dollar legal bill for the court case.

Thanki said Jackson signed a contract to record albums, write an autobiography and stage shows, and that document noted that seven million dollars would be deducted from the artist's royalties to pay for expenses.

The court heard that Jackson visited Bahrain with his children and personal staff in the aftermath of his 2005 child molestation trial, and left in May 2006 to go to Europe and Japan.

A month later, Jackson asked Sheikh Abdulla to sign a document releasing him from his obligations under the previous contract -- a request the prince refused, Thanki said.

He said the sheikh felt "a strong sense of betrayal" at the time.

Jackson contests the claim, saying the sheikh's case is based on "mistake, misrepresentation and undue influence."

Englehart told the court earlier this week that while there was "no doubt that Sheikh Abdulla was very generous in his hospitality and general treatment of Michael Jackson", the contract Jackson apparently signed was "one brick in a building which was never built."

He said: "It will be my submission that this contract is clearly intended by both parties to be one of the contractual arrangements in a joint venture which never actually materialised."

Jackson also argues that the sheikh exercised "undue influence" over him in the aftermath of the 2005 trial, at which point he was emotionally exhausted.

Thanki told the court on Monday that Jackson and the sheikh had a "close personal relationship" and even collaborated on a musical project -- Jackson recorded a song written by the prince which was planned as a charity single.

A recording of the song would be played in court during the trial, he said.

Though Jackson was riding high in the aftermath of his 1983 uber-hit "Thriller", which remains the best-selling album of all-time with 50 million copies sold, he has since fallen on harder times, with speculation intense regarding the state of his finances.

Lawyer: Michael Jackson may be too sick to travel
Posted On 22/11/2008 22:54:17
LONDON – Michael Jackson might be too sick to travel to London to testify in a suit claiming he owes an Arab sheik $7 million, the pop star's attorney said Tuesday.

Jackson is seeking to give his testimony by video link from the United States.

"It would be unwise for him to travel, given what's he's got now," lawyer Robert Englehart said, declining to elaborate "for the obvious reasons."

A lawyer for Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the medical evidence presented by Jackson's legal team was unsatisfactory.

"It's not the first time a sick note has been presented by Mr. Jackson," the lawyer, Bankim Thanki said. He gave no precise indication of what the illness might be, but told the court that Jackson's condition could be treated with a bandage "if the diagnosis is positive."

Jackson has often been seen wearing a surgical mask in public. In one infamous court appearance in California, he appeared to have a bandage hanging from his hollowed-out nose.

Despite much speculation about his radically changed appearance over the years, he has denied having had any alterations to his face other than two operations on his nose to help him breathe better to hit higher notes.

The judge in the current case, Nigel Sweeney, said he would decide the question of Jackson's travel on Thursday to allow time for medical experts on both legal teams to talk.

Al Khalifa, the second son of the king of Bahrain, claims that Jackson reneged on a contract for an album, a candid autobiography and a stage play, after accepting millions from the sheik.

Al Khalifa was in court Tuesday for the second day of arguments and testimony.

The case is being tried in London by mutual agreement, Al Khalifa's representatives have said, and it is expected to close by the end of the month.

Jackson, 50, and the Bahraini royal first made contact when Jackson was fending off accusations of child molestation in California. Once Jackson was cleared of the charges, Al Khalifa, an amateur songwriter, invited him to the small, oil-rich Gulf state to escape the media spotlight.

Thanki said that the pair even moved in to the same palace to work on music together.

However, Jackson dropped the project in 2006, leaving Bahrain and pulling out of the contract, a move Al Khalifa considered a slap in the face, Thanki said.

"It's fair to say my client felt a considerable sense of betrayal by someone he thought was a close friend," he said. Thanki said Al Khalifa suffered financially too: Jackson's autobiography, intended to be "a frank and personal account" of the singer's life, was alone expected to rack up $24 million.

In the meanwhile, Al Khalifa had given Jackson millions of dollars to help shore up his finances and subsidize Jackson's lifestyle in the small Gulf state — including more than $300,000 for a "motivational guru."

Thanki said Al Khalifa considered the money an advance on the profits Jackson would reap from their pop music project, but Englehart said the money was a gift.

"Sheik Abdulla, fortunately for himself, had the resources to be so generous," Englehart said.

Englehart argued that Jackson wasn't bound by the deal he struck because the contract was technically signed on behalf of 2 Seas Records, a venture which never got off the ground.

"This (contract) was one brick in a building that was never built," Englehart said.

Michael Jackson being sued in UK court
Posted On 22/11/2008 22:52:55
LONDON – The son of an Arab monarch took the King of Pop to court Monday, charging that Michael Jackson took $7 million as an advance on an album and an autobiography that he never produced.

Lawyers for Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain say the money was given to Jackson as an advance on the book and joint recording project with the sheikh, who is an amateur songwriter. Jackson claims the money was a gift.

Jackson and Al Khalifa were not at London's Royal Courts of Justice as the trial opened. Jackson's lawyers said he would seek permission to testify by video link from the United States.

Bankim Thanki, a lawyer for Al Khalifa, said the royal first spoke to Jackson by telephone while the singer was on trial in California on charges of child molestation.

Al Khalifa wanted to work with Jackson on rebuilding his career, Thanki said. To that end, the sheikh spent millions paying Jackson's legal fees, moving him to Bahrain and supporting Jackson, his family and entourage.

The expenses included $350,000 for a European vacation for Jackson and his associates, Thanki said.

"The cost even included the expenses of bringing out Mr. Jackson's hairdresser," Thanki said. "It's not a conventional commercial dispute."

The lawyer said Jackson and the sheikh became close and at one time both were living in a palace in Abu Dhabi owned by Al Khalifa's father, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the oil-rich country. The singer stayed nearly a full year in Bahrain as a guest of the son, who serves as the governor of the country's Southern Province.

Thanki acknowledged that Al Khalifa gave some gifts to Jackson but said that most of what Jackson received was part of a business deal.

The gifts, he said, "were essentially personal effects — watches, jewelry."
