For Best Friend Forever...........
Posted On 25/04/2008 04:41:35

Remember when we used to talk all night?
We didn't get much sleep
Talkin' 'bout and plannin'out our lives
And who we're gonna be
Things were so much different then
Our lives have changed so much my friend
But you and I will always believe

'Cause we'll be
You'll see
We'll be
We'll be Friends Forever

We'll be
You'll see
We'll be
Like Kapil and Mukesh

Well this heart of mine has been hardened like a stone
It might take some time to get back what is gone
But I’m movin’ on and you don’t haunt my dreams
Like you did before oh when I would curse your name

Well I heard the news that you were back in town
Just passin’ through to claim your lost and found
But I’m over you and there ain’t nothin’ that
You could say or do to take what you did back
Well you got nerve to waltz right inAnd think what’s mine is yours again

Chorus

Cause I’ve been doin’ fine without you
Forgettin’ all the love we once knew
And girl I ain’t the one who slammed that door
But now you say you’ve changed your thinkin’
But I ain’t got a heart for breakin’So go and pick your bags up off my floor
Oh cause love don’t live here anymore

Well baby you can try to tell me how it is
And try to justify everything you did
But honey I’m no fool and oh I’ve been down this road
Too many times with you I think it’s best you go

Well I got one thing left to say
Is you can lay in the bed you’ve made

Repeat Chorus

Oh no that love don’t live here anymore
Oh no, no
Sugar no, no
And you don’t live here anymore
Love don’t live here anymore
And since you walked out of my door
Love don’t live here
Love don’t live here girl
Oh love don’t live here anymore

Why I Love Country Music, Vol 1: Lefty Frizzell
Posted On 09/01/2008 13:30:07
Frizzell

Sometimes people ask me why I like country music and I have a hard time answering the question. I know I love it more than any other kind of music, but I can't put my finger on exactly why. Believe me, it's a lot easier to explain your love for "Kind of Blue" or "Odessey & Oracle" than to put your admiration for George Jones into persuasive words.

And then an old country song comes around on my i-pod that just makes me say "wow". So I decided that whenever that happens I will just stop everything and do a quick post here to let the music do the talking for me.

Here's tonight's installment of Why I Love Country Music:

Lefty Frizzell - Always Late (With Your Kissess) (mp3) (buy album).

Am I crazy, or is this sh*t crazy good?

P.S. I'm not a talker. Maybe you are? If you can explain why old country music is so good, please do so in the comments. I eagerly await your contributions....

P.P.S. I also love both "Kind of Blue" and "Odessey & Oracle."

P.P.P.S. I was drinking wine when I wrote this post. I like wine.

P.P.P.P.S. I must be kinda drunk because "Sweet Child O' Mine" just came around on my i-pod and it really made me say "WOW". It's a great song! Peace.

Where do we go now?

Britney Spears blames herself for Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy
Posted On 02/01/2008 06:29:23

Britney SpearsTroubled
former pop princess Britney Spears blames herself for her 16 year old
sister, Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy, it has been claimed.

Jamie Lynn announced her pregnancy earlier this month, and Britney,
has reportedly told friends she tried to help her sister lead a good
life.

Britney allegedly told friends: “I’ve done some pretty dumb stuff
and haven’t been a good role model. I warned this girl, I really did.
She seemed to take my advice.”

The singer - who is embroiled in a bitter legal battle with
ex-husband Kevin Federline, who she divorced earlier this year, has
lost custody of her own sons - Sean Preston, two and 15-month-old
Jayden James - and is now only permitted supervised court visits with
her kids if she passes random drug and alcohol testing.

But Britney is still furious that her younger sister has got pregnant by her 19-year-old boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

Brit reportedly fumed: “I’m really disappointed in her. I told her
over and over just to be a kid and let the adult things like sex and
drinking and all that wait.

“I just can’t believe she’s pregnant. She is way too young to be a mom. She should be having fun and stuff, not having a baby.”

Mike Lee: Peer Reciprocity, Not Love
Posted On 02/01/2008 06:18:54

Mike Lee (aka The World’s Toughest Programmer) wrote an excellent blog post called Lucas, which details the loss of graphics programmer Lucas Newman from Delicious Monster, the Mac software house that is responsible for Delicious Library.

It’s a wonderful post, if a bit wordy, as many of Lee’s posts are.
Nonetheless, Mike Lee is an eloquent writer, and when when he hits his
groove, he occasionally says something so well that it makes me stand
up and take notice, what with me being a writing and grammar and
general word geek.

In Lucas, Lee makes an excellent observation on the
difference between being in love with another person and being a peer,
in the truest partnership sense of the word. Even though I’m going to
yank a few paragraphs a bit out of their intended context, I think
they’ll stand on their own just fine.

People love to talk about love. They love to misquote 1
Corinthians: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does
not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it
is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not
delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always
trusts, always hopes, always preserves.”

Which is to say that love is imaginary. Love is some kind of
platonic ideal that doesn’t exist in this world, because the human
emotion we call love is hot and short. It leads to divorce, to murder,
to suicide, and to selfishness. Oh, but that’s not true love, they say.
Maybe not, but it’s certainly real love. The truest thing I’ve ever
heard about love is that, in any relationship, one person always loves
the other more.

On the other hand, a peer relationship is a reciprocal relationship.
It’s having someone to teach things to, but also to learn things from.
It’s having someone to show things to, but also having someone to show
you things. It’s understanding and being understood. It’s being equal
in your inequality, and being enriched by your differences.

Take some time and really think about that.
