Get set for some hair-raising magic as the fifth fantasy adventure film based on the novel by J K Rowling comes to theatres this July. Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix will be released in most countries in a two-week period starting July 11. Seen in the picture are actors Emma Watson (who plays Harry's best friend Hermoine Granger) and Daniel Radcliffe (who plays Harry Potter), as they pose for photographers during a photocall in London on Monday, June 25. Many directors, including Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell and our very own Mira Nair, were approached to direct the fifth sequel. Both turned it down. In the end, it was British director David Yates who helmed Order Of The Phoenix. Seen in the picture are Evanna Lynch (who plays Harry's classmate Luna Lovegood), Rupert Grint (who plays Ron, Harry's best friend), Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Katie Leung (who plays Harry's sweetheart). The film will offer details of Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts and efforts by the Ministry of Magic to take control of the school while the evil Voldemort plots to acquire a 'weapon' that he intends to use to destroy Potter. Hogwarts students include Indians Padma Patil (Afshan Azad) and Parvati Patil (Shefali Chowdhury). Meanwhile, the film will also feature the first kiss between Harry (Daniel)and Cho Chang (Katie). A new character in the film, Grawp, Hagrid's giant half-brother, will come to life by a new technology called 'Soul Capturing,' developed by Image Metrics. Meanwhile, Evanna Lynch beat over 15,000 other girls at the open casting when she won the role of Luna Lovegood while footballer Theo Walcott's family will make a cameo role in the film. Theo himself was due to appear as well, though his commitments to Arsenal forced him to pull out. Rowling was given a 20-minute preview of the film, which was shot mostly locations around England and Scotland. She was bowled over and was quoted as saying it 'looks fantastic' on her website.
