Year of 1984 and its effects on people of India.
1984 whenever this year comes to my mind I feel really
terrible for myself not because I was born in this year or my friend neither
because India might have lost any cricket match from Australia or Pakistan nor
because Indira Gandhi then PM of India was assassinated by her own guards as I
have nothing personal about that or I belong to congress party but because that
is the year when we witnesses India’s death of its much famed democracy. Some
of poor souls like me were born but to little to understand that complicated
and yeah some were there who could have mattered but refused to do any thing
about it may be I am more terrified and disturbed to see and read about what
happened to all those Indians some 21 years back and what about those souls who
lost their loved ones for no reason their only reason to face whole of this
anger death and humiliation was that they belonged to particular community and
those murders belong to some community and later this situation was exploited
by various cunning and cruel people to realize their political gains and its
not new because it has happened in India
when she got her independence from British and it didn’t stopped there in Delhi
but occurred again in Bombay and then very recent memory in Godhra ( Gujarat )
which is used again by some party to gain her political motives and these
political parties likes to warm their hand on fire of communal riots which are
instigated somehow someway by themselves. We talked lot about what happened
during riots and who did this and why what were their names and all that stuff,
what do these people get out of these on
commission which always takes its own time and when results are out either
people involved are dead and gone or not in position to be prosecuted by Law of
land we generally forgets these laws are meant for these people who can very
easily manipulates them according to their need and requirements and these
commissions are just whitewash in the public eye who will again suffer another
some party or group sponsored outrage against some group to have their way go
around it is possible that it might never end under any circumstances and
general innocent public will get mauled and murdered by those butchers in white
behind the scene.
Now the biggest question arises for me is that what about
those people who have lost their near dear ones and their wealth I mean
everything to this vicious cycle of riot where all this happens and leaves
those lifelong scars on the souls of this people what kind of rehabilitation is
done for them and what about those people guilty who did all this nothing
concrete has been done yet and oh I just feels like I have forgotten about the
victims of industrial murders don’t be amazed by it because it is not anything
new especially in India where money & power is given precedence over the
interest of general public and their welfare take for incidence what has
happened in Bhopal same year that 1984 about which I feels is the most
imprinted on my soul I got this imprinted on it when I was to young I heard my
parents about the operation blue star and Chaurasi key Dangge from
my parents and even on television and what not and I couldn’t believe when some
my friends used to say stuff like Sardar Gaddar how I have thrashed them in
front of everyone and among them was my friend (name withheld ) I hated that
guy may be it was bad of me but it surely was heart breaking to my souls and
when I grew up I heard of it from my school friends who used to talk about A
guy named Sant Bhindrawale which I always disagreed on various issues related
to it about his blockade of golden temple in Amritsar Sahib and turning it into
fortress causing death of thousand people of Sikh community, I don’t agree with
him on issues especially separate Sikh state carved out of Punjab it sounds
good the problem according to me is that it is not good idea for people of
Punjab because it will hamper growth of its enterprising people who have grown
tremendously with India as whole and one nation and contributed toward its
growth and prosperity. Actually we got lost in middle about the problems of
people who survived these dreadful times and were left alone with their some
old parents and somewhere without their only bread earners of family and somewhere various girls were raped
I mean gang raped and murdered and many were left alive to past their life with
curse of being alive whey they were alive without their people what bad had
they done to be alive and face such problems of poverty and deprivation or why
were their family members were killed of no fault that question still haunts in
our minds especially those who have and human bone left in their body some used this situation to realize their
political ideas and other did to take revenge from particular community for no
particular reason and murdered many innocent with biggest looser Indian
democracy it is not the only incident it
happened in Godhra Gujarat Muslims were butchered as were Sikhs in Delhi it was
revisited same happened in Bombay will this ever stop in land of Nanak, Buddha and gandhi who stood
whole of their life for nonviolence (Ahimsa)
and peace. India is land where ideas of love peace and equality were
given to humanity by Great souls and to whole world they must been crying with
tears of blood up somewhere in their adobes.
Last but not the least I would like to know what possibly
could be done to save humanity and s from this situation, only one thing comes
to mind would be to teach ourselves lesson of love compassion and make everyone
around realize that we all are one and our aspirations are in one direction and
that would be to take us country toward glory and development and not to waste
time in these petty things which might hamper the countrymen and their future
offspring’s so that could live the life of prosperity and love all around yeah
I know it may be clichéd such but after
all life is all about dreams and aspirations and hope which must be kept alive
and never let be go down due to despair and we have to provide our children
life security and hope.
