Marasim means relations.
My relations with Jagjit Singh go back to the days
when he composed music for my serial Mirza Ghalib.
The compositions came very easily to him.
I was so astonished at this spontaneity.
Jagjit is a master par excellence in
rendering of a ghazal.
Ghazal needs a special 'Mizaj' for its rendering and
an in-depth understanding of Urdu poetry.
It is during this period and later, that I shared
my poetry with him.
All that looks easy, is not so simple.
It took us more than six years to compile this album,
weaving memories in melody.
