lOVE
Tear stains on pillowcases imprint themselves on my cheek, and in the night they fade away like the kisses you left softly on my fingertips. fading peals of laughter are ringing in my ears, the sounds of happiness keeping me tossing and turning in the bed where so many memories have slept. i'll miss the smell of my sheets on your skin, the way the moon caressed your skin while your head was on my chest. perfection only lasted for the moment when your eyes met mine and we silently agreed that this was all we ever wanted. but the days and nights i spent with your breath on my cheek are now only numbers on turned calendar pages. to ask you to reclaim your words and give me back those bold black numbers and soft black nights is too much. so forgive me, i've never been good at confrontations, or even carefully thought-out apologies. all i want is the moon and stars who looked down on us in our moments of perfection to be mine. under their steady gaze i'll remember that these past months were worth the emptiness that has taken your place in my heart. your goodbye destroyed my world, but the solitude of the hours i can no longer spend with you remain my own.
