Ph: 91-44-23743883 Fax: 91-44-23742699    Web: www.motherteresacharities.org Email: [email protected] /[email protected]   Dear Sir, Chennai, July 6 th 2010             It gives me much pleasure to receive overwhelming response from the volunteers of Mother Teresa Forum and general public for the activities we made in the last month.             Our volunteers have been assigned a target of enrollment of 10,000 members for each district in Tamil Nadu. MTF volunteers in several districts are competing between themselves to enroll more members in their respective area. Altogether within August 2010, we expect 3 lakh members in the entire Tamil Nadu .             Similarly, in other states like, Delhi , Maharastra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkand etc, the enrollment of membership is taken up vigorously. All other states have been assigned a target of 10,000 members in each state. We hope that this target will be achieved by all other states in India .             My recent visit to Srilanka enabled us to organize our Mother Teresa Forum there also. We had a meeting with likeminded people there and lots of volunteers evinced much enthusiasm in joining with our MTF and serve the needy in the society. Now, the membership drive has been started and I am sure that Mother Teresa Forum office would be opened shortly in Colombo also. Nobel Laureate Mother Teresa Charitable Trust jointly with Missionaries of Charity , Calcutta is preparing for the centenary of Mother Teresa. This celebration gives us an opportunity to reflect the life and service of one of the most admired personality in our time the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. May her life, work and message inspire all of us. We solicit, MTF volunteers to organize the centenary celebrations of mother Teresa throughout the year (26 th august 2010 to 25 th August 2011) it has been decided to have the following program which can be divided in to four quarters The first quarter, child health and education, second, environment protection, third Women empowerment, and the fourth food for all. The volunteers are requested to organize functions seminars workshops, awareness programmes etc in their respective areas under their jurisdiction.      Apart from this we should take initiatives in organizing the celebrations throughout the year, ·            School programmes – Competitions & Prices ·            Rallies– T.Shirts/caps depicting the words of Mother Teresa ·            Award giving ceremonies – both for men and Women achievers ·            Exhibitions – developing posters Stickers & leaflets highlighting the life and word of M other Teresa ·            Sapling plantations – driving the new generation towards a greener society ·            Health camps – Eye, Dental or General Health camps ·            Feeding the poor – Food for all cultural programmes – on life and message of Mother Teresa.          You can select these activities from the above list for a particular duration (say three months) and celebrate accordingly. A Symposium, a photo exhibition, a documentary, a marathon run are some of the other programmes being planned.          Further you are aware that, the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) the unit of UNO, has also resolved to celebrate Mother Teresa's birth centenary.          We are glad to inform you that Her Excellency the President of India Smt. Pratiba Devisingh Patil, and the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi Smt Sheila Dikshit have consented to participate in the Mother Teresa centenary celebration at New Delhi on 28.8.2010.          We propose to constitute the National Committee of Mother Teresa Forum shortly. Similarly we also constitute the Governing Body of the MTF. Any person of eminence who is willing to be a member in the National Governing Body is welcomed to join thus to guide the trust board to expand its activities.             Further, we are very glad to inform you that, the District Magistrate (Collector) Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu has inspected our computer center at Uthangarai, Krishnagiri District and made the following comments in the inspection book at the center- "Today afternoon (15.5.2010) the free computer center run by Mother Teresa Charitable Trust at Uthangarai inspected. Under the auspicious supervision of Mr. Vivekanandan ( the Vice president, MTF, Tamil Nadu ) this trust's computer center provide yeomen services to both the genders, especially much priority and preference   being given to women is really appreciable .             I extend my best wishes for the continued services. Sd/- V.K.Shanmugam,IAS This appreciation by the district collector has highly inspired volunteers of Krishnagiri District and they are now vigorously on the job of enrolling members.                    The volunteers of North Chennai, District organized an "Eye Camp " at GKM Colony, Kolathur, Chennai, in coordination with Dr.Agarwal Eye Hospital . Shri. Loyds Chandra. Asst. Commissioner of Police, Madhavaram inaugurated the camp.
